Roc & Yella [Video] Lost Alot

(Orangeburg, South Carolina) - Its a been a tumultuous several months for the state of South Carolina. First the shooter who killed nine in the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in the summer and now floods are destroying property across the state this week. But despite the tough times, Roc & Yella have persevered despite it all and are continuing to make their music heard. Despite having "Lost Alot" they are still pushing and making strides on their local rap scene. Kicking things off this Fall, the group is pushing the street ready song, "Lost Alot." The song details all they have lost on their way to achieving their goals of stardom in Hip-Hop and is theme local fans on their scene can appreciate given the circumstances in South Carolina. "During the time we made this song we were both going through each of the situations that we talk about in the song, so this is real life situations we felt so it was easy to write this song," Yella explained. "The song 'Lost Alot' is for all those that we lost. Its a heart felt record. We lost a friend behind a car accident not long ago so this is a tribute to those that are dead or in jail or prison or that are away," Roc explained. The biological cousins who have done everything together since kids say the scene in South Carolina, "has a ton of talent." But while there is talent, they still feel they have to climb out of the crab bucket to become one of first acts to break onto the national scene from their state. "There's been a rapper from nearly every state in the South except for South Carolina and we feel we can be the first one's to do it," rapper Roc explained. "Its cool though, we got a lot of talent that makes dope music, so I feel it's coming soon." "Yea to that, its like people want to see you do good, but they don't want to see you do better than them, so its like its crabs in a bucket out here" Yella said of his home state. "I think once this DJ Burn One project comes out people will see where things are going for us." Look out for more from the guys soon, as they will be dropping more tracks from their diverse catalogue of songs set to be featured on the project with DJ Burn One who will be executive producer on the street album, Ain't No Loyalty. The project will be narrated by @djblord who is one of the biggest DJ's in South Carolina.

G U N [New Single] My Trap feat MPA

(Dallas, TX) - With his real buzz growing via sites like Hip-HopDx, Noisey and other southern staples like TrapsNTrunks, ThaFixx and Dirty Glove Bastard, Dallas rapper G.U.N. is prepared to unload on the Hip-Hop world with his new EP which is a prelude to this G.U.N. Theory EP. Produced entirely by Franchise Beats, G.U.N. is kicking in the door with his single "My Trap." G.U.N. completely embodies all that is the trap and he absolutely demolishes this slow paced trap anthem definitely worth the repeat play. From finessing pills to moving weight, G.U.N. flips the beat and accompanies his verse with spastic overdubs that only he could create. "Franchise Beats has that sound, and I just knew I wanted to work with him more and more as we began to work together more and more," G.U.N. explained. "He sounds like a young 808 or a young Metro Boomin." G.U.N.'s label (DEMG) has snowballed in to Dallas' most popular youth movement on the scene having managed Justus (featured on Dr. Dre's Compton album) who signed with the D.O.C.and Dr. Dre. Couple that with co-hort Post Malone shedding light on Dallas and G.U.N. has gotten a great response nationally with just a limited number of releases. "The song 'My Trap' I came up with that in trap - real shit. I was just talkin sh*t with one of my homies the other day in his trap house and I was just telling him how my trap was more boomin than his. So we just started going back and forth and the melody on the hook kinda got stuck in my head, so I just put it on the beat and it worked for me," G.U.N. recalled. Be sure to go look for G.U.N.'s new prelude EP Oct 2nd via all popular digital retailers. Soundcloud link and art is available below!
